Room control
In public buildings, such as hotels, office buildings, parking lots, hospitals, health clinics, etc. there are many rooms/areas in which electricity, air-conditioning, electricity systems are installed according to the type of facility.
In order to economize in as far as possible on the electricity consumption, a local controller is installed in each room/area to operate all the systems in the area.
The room controller is an intelligent universal controller with several applications corresponding to each configuration of the system installed in the field. The controller also fully controls operation of the room depending on various parameters:
- Smart card status
- Entry door status
- Window status
- Volume detector status
- Etc.…
The controller receives all the parameters and operates the room optimally. Thus for instance, if the room is not manned for an operator-defined period, all the systems in the room (air-conditioning, lighting, sockets, etc.) will be turned off; the controller can be set in such a way that the systems will start working again on identification of activity in the room (smart card introduced in the card reader, volume detector identifies movement etc.).
The controller is a compact controller that can be installed in any existing metal/CI panel, so that it can be installed in places that are narrow/limited in space.
The Building Control and Energy Efficiency Division works with several room control solutions.
Controllers in serial communications, chained up to the end point. The end of the line connects to a communications adapter that transmits the data on the communication network to the mainframe computer.
Controllers in full IP communications based on Bacnet/IP protocol.
The controller allows connection of several local display and operating units, remote IO units and KNX protocol support. The Bacnet/IP protocol-based controllers have additional advantages such as real-time clock, schedules, calendar and data transfer capacity between other controllers in the network working with Bacnet/IP protocol.
Firmware updating for the controllers is transmitted on the communication line without need to carry out local updating on each controller. Remote firmware updating allows continued routine work of the customer without interruptions and without need for work in the field.
Simple tools allow the end user to operate all the equipment individually or as a group, manually or scheduled; parameters can be updated sweepingly for all the units without passing between the units and all simply and conveniently.
The room controller can work independently (without communications) and combined with connection to the control network for monitoring and operating purposes. Through the control system, it is possible to carry out central operation of the units, centralized start/stop at fixed hours, modification of threshold values according to the time of day, restriction of values, etc. The controllers are adapted to Sabbath observance with local operation or from the control system.
